Imagine this: You’re up before the sun and step into your canoe. The lake is perfectly calm, save for your paddle cutting into the water. You can hear nothing except for the call of loons. And as you enjoy the solitude, the sun crests over the trees. It’s one of those perfect moments. That’s what I tried to capture in this painting.
